January 1st 1985 marked the start of the cellular radio revolution in the UK and the beginning of a truly remarkable journey. Cellular 25 marked an important anniversary of an industry which has changed human behaviour, created the connected world and a mobile information economy. This major industry event, supported by the five UK cellular network operators and hosted by Sir David Brown, was held on 21st January 2010 at the Science Museum in London.
The event started with a short key note from the RT Hon Stephen Timms, Minister for Digital Britain and was followed by forward looking commentaries from senior technologists within the UK’s network operator and vendor communities, networking in the iconic Making the Modern World Gallery including a welcome from Chris Rapley, CBE, Director of the Science Museum and dinner in the Flight Gallery.
