A mobile shopping site for the unbanked in emerging markets.
I am the founder of moWoza, a social enterprise.
We are building an ecosystem that will provide access to goods in rural Africa.
Our mobile shopping platform is supported by a partnership led model, connecting suppliers, grass-roots entrepreneurs and agents to provide access to the goods most needed. We utilise mobile technologies to process transactions, and SMS to notify families of collection points.
Our ability to impact millions has been recognised by the prestigious Unreasonable Institute who have made us finalists in this year's Unreasonable Institute marketplace challenge. To gain entry into the world's foremost social incubator we compete against the other 45 finalists, in a race to raise $10,000.
Pease help us get into the Unreasonable Institute 2012, by donating here: https://marketplace.unreasonableinstitute.org/project/mowoza/
We will benefit from the world-class mentorship, a collaborative network, funding pipeline and complementary services that the Unreasonable Institute offer. We would love to be in this year’s Unreasonable Institute fellowship programme.
