The Wireless Gateway Project is about ensuring that businesses in both the creative content and wireless sectors have the best opportunity to develop ideas for key international sporting events such as the 2012 Olympics and get the support necessary to take ideas from the 'drawing board' into production.

Delivery platforms for creative content will usually be commissioned well before the actual event – three years before is not unusual.  So there is an urgency to this project; without action now we, as a region, are likely to lose out. So making things happen fast is going to be important!

Over the last year we have been organising events to refine ideas with some of the best wireless technology companies and content creators in the UK.  Having brought together technology platforms and content creators, we have been filtering through a range of propositions to bring to your attention the very best ideas for key international sporting events such as the London Olympics.  A panel of judges have now chosen six world class propositions.  This event gives you the opportunity to listen to the six presentations and ask specific questions about how these companies can help realise your strategy for key international sporting events.

Additional Notes:

A full list of the winning propositions and the businesses participating is attached. The Wireless Gateway (East) Project is a collaboration between Cambridge Wireless and Screen East and has been jointly funded by:  East of England Development Agency (EEDA); Screen East; Greater Cambridge Partnership; and Cambridge Wireless.

The event on 15th May is not open to the public. It will be held at: Homerton College Cambridge. from 3.15pm – 6.30pm. Each group of businesses will be given 15 minutes to present their pitch and a further 10 minutes to answer questions from the panel.
