This SIG event is championed by Antony Rix of TTP, Peter George of Anritsu MMDE and Tim Whittaker of Cambridge Consultants Ltd. We are delighted that Rohde & Schwarz have kindly agreed to sponsor this important event.
Whilst most of the short-range wireless news concentrates on open standard 'full' systems like Bluetooth and ZigBee, there are many radio systems which have been developed independently by single organisations or small communities of interest.
A 'near-proprietary' system has advantages: it's usually a lot simpler and may therefore be developed more quickly using smaller silicon devices. Because the community of interest is smaller, it's usually a lot quicker to define the system too. In addition, the radio can be optimised to the application, keeping power consumption low, free from interference etc.
In this event, representatives from radio suppliers will present their systems, and explain what they do well. There will also be question and answer sessions in which the SIG will facilitate the comparison of these systems for your particular application.
Events are FREE to Cambridge Wireless Members. Tickets for non-members are £250.00 plus VAT. To join Cambridge Wireless, and attend all future events for free please visit: www.cambridgewireless.co.uk/sign-up
