International SIG 'Going Green in the East'

This SIG spotlights three major global markets; Japan, China and India all of which are focusing on energy conservation, development of energy efficiency and expansion of urban infrastructure. Following on from last year’s earthquake and tsunami Japan’s focus has undergone a huge shift where possibilities now exist for organisations ranging from smart grid communities to alternative power. China’s demand, increased by economic growth, has motivated the Chinese government to prioritise areas such as carbon finance and energy diversification. India also has plans to inject over $1 trillion US dollars into urban infrastructure and advanced green energy technology. This half-day SIG looks at the very real opportunities for overseas organisations to seize and fulfil these demands.

Start date/time :  14:00 14th June 2012
End date/time :  17:15 14th June 2012
Venue :  Deloitte, City House, 126-130 Hills Road, Cambridge CB2 1RY

This half day event will explore the opportunities for Cambridge Wireless members in the expanding Green Energy and Power Management business sectors in India, China and Japan.

One year on from the earthquake and tsunami Japan is managing a huge shift in power management demands, including energy conservation, smart grid/communities, alternative energy and power outage management.

China’s economic growth has fuelled demand for energy in all its forms. The Chinese government has prioritised the development of energy efficiency, including carbon finance and diversification of energy sources, including renewables.

India plans to spend US$1 trillion dollars in the next five years on a wide range of projects including ports, airports, roads, power, water and other urban infrastructure, and the demand for advanced technology in green energy and power management to support this will be huge.

This growth in all three major markets will lead to opportunities for companies working in the energy saving, low power, renewable and alternative energy sectors.

This SIG is Championed by Ting Zhang of China Business Solutions, Steve Crane of Business Link Japan and Was Rahman of Dolphin Advisory/UKTI.
