About the event

Speakers

Blogging is the ultimate content marketing tool. Ann Hawkins will explain how to start a blog, how to grow an audience and how to use blogging as the key to promoting your business.

Ann started blogging in 2005 and has over 5,000 regular readers all over the world. Her posts, old and new, are widely shared on social media and bring her a regular stream of new clients.

Ann is a coach and mentor to owners of small businesses who want to make more profit and have more time to enjoy it. She is the co-author of the book New Business Next Steps, published by Pearson, the creator of the on-line programme Work Smart, Not Hard and the radio series The A-Z of Business Success and has helped to found several businesses.

Yasmin Chopin is an interior designer who embraced the world of social media with the purpose of getting her business more widely known. In 2010 she started a basic blog and soon found this offered many more opportunities than just being a means of communication. In 2014 Yasmin was nominated and then shortlisted as one of the top five interior design bloggers in Awards conducted by Amara Living. She was also voted by the prestigious design trade show, Decorex International, as one of the top 100 design influencers on Twitter. Yasmin will talk about how blogging has helped her business and the key points along the journey.

Yasmin offers 2 hour interior design consultations for a fixed fee to home owners in the Cambridge area. This year she set up Select a Maker, an on-line directory of designer-makers based in the UK. The aim is to help interior designers find bespoke makers, expand opportunities for designer-makers and advance the UK’s bespoke sector.
