geo's software technologies range from ultra-low power IoT to big data cloud services. We are a small and agile development team and our engineers work on a wide range of projects, typically following a product from early concept to production either as an individual or as part of a scrum team.

You will have proven experience of delivering software based products and be able to demonstrate technical expertise in one or more areas. You'll be enthusiastic about developing breadth as well depth in your career and not be afraid to work across boundaries and disciplines. Our philosophy is to hire great engineers and to give them work they love, we don't have a 'box' to fill with specific skills and seniority.

Essential Requirements:

  • software development experience in C
  • experience working with prototype hardware ranging from wireless communications to displays
  • a 1st or 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject or demonstrably excellent technical skills & knowledge
  • proven ability to work effectively in an agile team at all phases of product development
  • exposure to IoT technologies and / or cloud services architectures

Based in Cambridge (UK) Green Energy Options (geo) specialise in the design, manufacture and support of energy management display and information systems for domestic markets across Europe. Our focus is helping consumers understand and manage their domestic energy (and water) consumption. As such we design, manufacture and support consumer products. Established in 2006 geo is now one of the leading home energy management system companies in the world having sold over 4 million systems. This year we won a Queens Award for Enterprise: Innovation and are listed in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 fastest growing UK tech Companies for a second year running. With major contracts to supply the UK smart metering programme, multiple connected home contracts and a growing distribution channel the company is continuing to experience substantial growth.
