Legal Briefing – Eversheds’ ’If you wish another to keep your secret, first keep it to yourself’ (Seneca) First in the series of Cambridge Wireless Legal Briefings will be hosted and led by Eversheds LLP. This series is specifically designed for the benefit of SMEs and we are delighted to launch this series with a session and debate focusing trade secrecy. What procedures should an organisation put in place to secure patent protection and these assets? As well as useful responses to other issues such as movement of key staff as well as the vital advice on what to do in the worst case scenario, will all be defined and debated in this concise practical session.Software algorithms, next-generation products, IC design, commercial pricing – are just some examples of confidential information that can form key business assets. This briefing will debate the importance of trade secrecy compared with patent protection in the wireless sector. Also under discussion will be the policies and procedures that can be put in place to protect these assets, suggestion of possible responses when key employees move to a competitor, and the practical steps to take if the worst happens, will all also be taken into consideration.
These sessions provide a unique opportunity to growing technology companies to acquire the latest emerging information within a legal context. The aim of each session aim is to tackle, debate and provide resolutions for hot topics and critical areas within industry today.
