The Cambridge Wireless Future Wide Area Wireless Special Interest Group exists to track developments in future wide area wireless technology and related issues such as spectral policy and Intellectual Property Rights. This SIG is championed by:

The Future Wide Area Wireless SIG meets approximately three times per year with the objectives of:

  • keeping members up to date with the latest developments in standards, IPR issues, and deployment plans
  • providing a ‘hype free zone’ for debating the relative merits of proposed new systems
  • sharing knowledge of new developments
  • exploring new business opportunities that arise from evolving standards
  • exploring opportunities to influence the development of new standards
  • promoting member’s capabilities at local and international levels
  • showcasing member’s capabilities to third parties
  • networking
