Daniel is a technology and innovation consultant with a long and successful career in the high-tech electronics industry (mostly around fixed and wireless communications, healthcare, transport and digital technologies). He has worked in a variety of technical and commercial positions in large multinational companies, SMEs and public sector bodies.
More recently, he has specialised in a variety of technology focused skillsets, from building communities of tech professionals to facilitating knowledge transfer and innovation management. He has a keen interest in the start-up landscape so you’ll often find him advising small companies on funding strategy or sharing best practise on how to commercialise technology.
Daniel’s role at CW is partly business development – attracting new members and sponsors, and partly strategic management of a collection of special interest groups (SIGs) – working alongside the SIG champions to ensure they run smoothly and providing support where necessary.
Daniel has worked in both the Knowledge Transfer Network and the Digital Catapult, helping companies throughout the UK share knowledge and benefit from innovative new technologies. Working closely with Innovate UK and other public sector and central and local government organisations, he became very well acquainted with the grant funding landscape in the UK and Europe and with the public-sector science, technology and innovation priorities.
