About Sophie
Sophie joined CW in January 2017 as a part-time Events Manager to support the team with Special Interest Group (SIG) events. Sophie worked on the inaugural Smart Cities SIG hosted at Digital Greenwich and is looking forward to bringing forthcoming SIG events to fruition over the next few months.
Sophie’s recent events management experience includes project-managing a roadshow for Connecting Cambridgeshire to help women grow their businesses by developing their digital skills and organising a programme of business support workshops for SME’s. Prior to that in her role at the Swiss Business Hub UK, she organised events for Swiss companies looking to promote their products in the UK. She also coordinated Random House Publisher’s presence at trade shows and book fairs across the world.
Inspired by Gareth Malone’s ‘Military Wives TV series, Sophie set up a local amateur choir which can be heard singing/murdering a few songs in the village hall on Monday evenings and which, thanks to a very patient and talented director, provides the local community with some occasional entertainment.
