About the event

Our first speaker, Paul Turner from FPP, an employee benefits consultancy specialising in auto-enrolment for SMEs, will give an introduction about the legal requirement for all employers to automatically enrol eligible employees into a qualifying workplace pension scheme. He will concentrate on the main things to consider when setting up a scheme, from ascertaining your staging date and assessing your workforce to identifying an appropriate pension scheme to communicating the changes to your employees. Compliance with the new rules is key and getting good advice can ensure you comply with the requirements and ensure you avoid costly fines. By the end of this session you should have a clearer understanding of what you need to do to successfully auto-enrol.

Our second speaker, Dale Inman from wealth management company Mattioli Woods will focus on Pension Freedoms. From April 2015 pensions will experience the biggest shake-up in over 100 years so that savers aged 55+ will be able to access their pensions with complete freedom for the first time. This is the biggest shake-up of pensions in over 100 years, and is aimed to rejuvenate an industry that has long been under scrutiny. This talk will concentrate on the new rules about pension options at retirement and the potential implications, good and bad, with this.
