An introduction and overview of some developments in Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance capabilities developed by modern militaries over the past 20 years. Technologies and examples will cover Radar (RadInt) and Geographical Intelligence (GeoInt) as follows: RadInt - Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Imaging, Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR), Ground Movement Target Indication (GMTI); GeoInt - Electro-optical and Infrared (EO/IR) theory and technologies, Multi-Spectrum Imagery (MSI), Hyper-Spectrum Imagery (HSI), Full Motion Video (FMV) technologies, Wide Area Motion Imagery (WAMI), Wide Area Persistent Surveillance(WAPS), Burst illumination Laser (BIL) and Light detection and Ranging (LIDAR).
Flt Lt Stu Quinn MA MEng CEng QWI ISR. read for his MEng in Electronic Systems at the University of Ulster and Augsburg Fachhochschule before joining the RAF in 1999.
Since then he has completed a multitude of operational tours in Northern Ireland, the Falkland Islands, Iraq and Afghanistan as, amongst other positions, an Officer Commanding of a Tactical Air Control Party (TACP), a Forward Air Controller(FAC), Surface to Air battery commander and an Air Director.

These Friday afternoon lunch / lecture events are held approximately every month, and from 2016 are planned to be always in the IET building at Savoy Place.
