PROFINET is rapidly becoming the network of choice for communications in Industrial automation But how is it different from conventional ethernet, what precautions must I take when installing it, how do I commission and support it moving forward? Answers to these and many other questions you may have will be provided during this two-introductory course to PROFINET.
Starting with the basics of Ethernet, the course progresses through to PROFINET, how it should be correctly installed in an industrial environment and suggestions for installation qualification of your network. The second day is spent building a PROFINET network comprising of a PLC, several PROFINET IO devices and switches from several manufacturers. This is then followed by defining the operational qualification for a PROFINET network and the tools available to perform this task and on-going support of a PROFINET network.

The Incase project
The project main objective is to close the gap between the 2 Seas region and Germany & other leading countries. This is done by developing and demonstrating the necessary key technologies towards companies, in this way facilitating the conversion towards I4.0
INCASE develops knowledge, innovative applications and pilots on key enabling automation technologies for the future I4.0. INCASE will deliver 10 thematic demonstration trajectories on those key enabling automation technologies for smart factories and green technologies for smart homes and factories. The demonstration actions will inspire practicing engineers towards new products and new production methodologies. The intermediary organisations will actively create awareness on the future I4.0.
INCASE is a European Interregional project funded by the Interreg V 2 Seas Programma 2014 – 2020. The project runs from September 2016 to August 2019
