The CW AI SIG is pleased to announce the launch of a new meeting format, with the inaugural event scheduled for May 20th 2021.
Intelligent Conversations in AI is a series of events discussing and debating ideas, stimulated by people who have written something interesting, regarding the uses and applications of AI.
We’ll give you something to read from within the field of AI beforehand, then we’ll meet informally to have open discussion and debate about the author’s material, as well as time to network informally with those present. We’ll ask the author to lead the discussion if we can secure their time, alternatively the SIG Champions may lead the discussion.
Our goals are to provide stimulating thinking and conversation within the broad field of AI, and to cultivate over time a sense of community. We’re going to trial the event format on-line, which has the advantage of making it more inclusive to join, wherever you happened to be in the world.
The stimulus material will typically be a blog post or a white paper – or sometimes an extract from a chapter of a book.
The author of our first Intelligent Conversations in AI event on Thursday 20th May will be Michal Gabrielczyk, Head of AI, Cambridge Consultants and the stimulus material can be found here
The event will last 1 hour, with the opportunity to stay and mingle a bit longer if you’d like to. We’ll meet at 5pm UK time (6pm CET, 9am EST).
The event will be hosted in the Remo virtual networking platform, which is great at cultivating communities of interest and encouraging informal networking.
