About the event

This concise evening lecture deliberates the 'knowledge triangle' of research, innovation and higher education. A strong coalition between industry and academia enables clear benefits, to which government has a crucial role in adopting and enabling this.

This Legal Briefing is open to all technology companies who are interested in understanding the legal framework that addresses low performance of staff within the workplace and how best to deal with employees who are under performing. A legal background is not required to attend any of our legal events and this Legal Briefing welcomes all to partake in this lively round table discussion.

Simon Tytherleigh , Senior Office Partner of Eversheds and Sharon Budworth, HR Manager at Aveva Solutions Ltd will conjointly look at the legal and practical aspects of the Performance Management of Employees, focusing on the following areas

  • Taking action for poor performance – the legal framework
  •  Where problems arise – examples of poor performance
  • Legal implications of getting it wrong
  • Dismissing fairly for poor performance and understanding the process to be followed
  • Issues that commonly arise
  • Recent changes in the law – using settlement agreements and off the record negotiations

Please note that Cambridge Wireless Legal Briefings are popular and places are limited. In the event of being oversubscribed, priority will be given to technology companies in the first instance, therefore confirmation of an assigned place will be given two weeks prior to the event.

We are extremely grateful to Adrian Toutoungi, Legal SIG Champion and Partner at Eversheds, for hosting this event.
