About the event

The KTN and the ICT National Contact Point are collaborating with the Enterprise Europe Network and other organisations to explain the level of support you can expect nationally and locally to assist you in your participation. This FREE half day event, supported by Cambridge Wireless, will provide delegates with the opportunity to hear the latest developments in Horizon 2020 and to receive an overview of the proposed Work Programme, leading up to the first calls for proposals at the end of the year. This will be supported by speakers with extensive experience in EU funding participation. Finally there will be opportunities for Q&A and to network with other delegates and speakers. Confirmed Speakers include; Eddie Townsend from ICT KTN; Peter Walters from ICT NCP; John Christopher of Enterprise Europe Network and Ian Lewin of Linguamatics Ltd.

Horizon 2020 (H2020) is the financial instrument implementing the Innovation Union, a Europe
2020 flagship initiative aimed at securing Europe’s global competitiveness. Running from 2014 to
2020 with a €70 billion budget, the EU’s new programme for research and innovation is part of the drive to create new growth and jobs in Europe.

H2020 provides major simplification through a single set of rules. It will combine much of the research and innovation funding currently provided through different pillars and aims to move closer to market with greater emphasis on innovation.

ICT is a major element of the Horizon 2020, representing a cross cutting technology that support most if not all sectors. The ICT KTN believes that through H2020 this new approach is one of the best opportunities for SMEs and other UK businesses to access new routes of European funding to support innovation for the next seven years – our aim is to enable this sector to be aware and be prepared for H2020.
Presentations will be heard from:
