The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to new cellular communication standards such as 5G/6G, allowing you to understand how these new communication standards are applied in the design and implementation of the devices used by consumers to exchange information over these wireless links. Using a combination of theoretical analysis, architecture design and software simulations, you will be involved in the modeling of the user device at the system level and the interpretation of key performance indicators. This is also a great opportunity to develop your programming/scripting proficiency and apply these skills to the development of complex simulation environments.

Qualifications and Essential Skills
- Good mathematical skills
- Familiarity with any wireless communication system
- Good system-level design and understanding of dataflow management in communications systems
Desirable Skills
- Problem solving/ creative thinking
- Someone who enjoys picking up new skills quickly, through informal learning
- Self-motivated and able to work both in a team and autonomously
- Have programming experience (ideally in Python, C or C++)
Location and Duration
The duration of the internship will be between 9 and 12 months and start in 2024.
We can be flexible about the start date. The position is located in Cambourne, very close to Cambridge and served by very frequent bus services from Cambridge.
