What will you be doing?  
 
The Big Data Technology Lead provides expert guidance and delivers through self and others to: 

  • Identify the local data sources that need to be used in order to enable advanced analytics, and manage the local process to access and automate the extraction of the data to the shared analytics platform. 
  • Deploy and integrate Advanced Analytics solutions into the local technology landscape, including managing the possible integration to any local systems. 

This role provides a critical bridge between data scientists, BI, Network and the Information Technology communities (both locally and globally). Their initial task will be to help mobilise advanced analytics in country, and evolve this into a high-performing technology capability over time. 

 
 
Who are we looking for?   

  • Knowledge in Google Cloud Platform, in big data and analytics services, and related open source technologies, other cloud providers desirable (AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge with distribute processing platforms such as Hadoop ecosystem (Spark, Hive/Impala, HBase, Yarn);
  • Knowledge development experience in Scala, Java and/or Python programming languages; other functional and scripting languages desirable;
  • Knowledge with container-based infrastructure and technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge in data streaming technologies like Kafka or Kinesis.
