Cellular Modem Verification Engineer

Summary

We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our successful and growing team operating in three locations globally. You will have a proven track record of verification in a complex environment. You will be comfortable and familiar with the tools and processes for developing tests and for the completion of all areas of the verification process. Due to the complexity of our on-going projects you should be capable of working both autonomously as well as in a cross-team site. This role involves both hands-on test/lab development as well as the improvement of existing flows.

Position:  Cellular Modem Verification Engineer

We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our successful and growing team operating in three locations globally.

In order to be successful in this position you will have a proven track record of verification in a complex environment. You will be comfortable and familiar with the tools and processes for developing tests and for the completion of all areas of the verification process.  Due to the complexity of our on-going projects you should be capable of working both autonomously as well as in a cross-team site.  This role involves both hands-on test/lab development as well as the improvement of existing flows.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Analyse 3GPP standards and cellular modem feature specifications
  • Design and implement fully automated test cases
  • Work out the required test coverage of our internally developed and externally sourced test cases
  • Set up and configure the automated test systems in collaboration with the automation tool team to run our selection of tests
  • Be responsible for the execution of our physical layer, RF/RRM/protocol conformance and other system wide functionality, stability, robustness and performance automated tests
  • Participate in the external laboratory (operation NVIOT) and field trial activities
  • Triage the failure of tests executed in continuous integration, external labs and in the field and closely collaborate with the global R&D teams to achieve resolution
  • Technical review of work from other team members

Your Skills/Experience:

  • BSc/MSc in electrical engineering, computer science, electronic engineering
  • Experience in the digital (cellular/wireless) communications sector
  • General knowledge of L1L2/L3 3GPP standards in 2G, 3G or 4G
  • Excellent functional and architectural overview of all layers/RTOS/peripheral components of a cellular modem software
  • Experience in cellular modem software and testing in lab and field
  • Excellent communication skills are critical
