Content Marketing Manager


Digital Catapult is looking for a Content Marketing Manager who will be responsible for the planning and creation of compelling and engaging marketing content, including publications and toolkits, for our flag-ship projects. Working in the Marketing team and closely with our Innovation and Technology teams, you will create content by translating technical and business innovation research into marketing communications, publications and toolkits for industry. Articulating how technical features benefit various technical and non-technical audiences.

You should ideally have an understanding of digital technology, experience of writing about technology and innovation for industry and business sectors, and an interest in the challenges facing cyber-security, computer and processor architecture, and the application developer ecosystem. You’ll have strong copywriting skills, specialising in technology. Ideally a background in marketing, with a sound knowledge of marketing channel communications and how they apply to B2B audiences, and a great eye for detail. You must be a skilled multitasker, at ease working within a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment, and have experience working with a variety of stakeholders across different levels and multiple organisations. This is a fixed term contract opportunity for a period of 18 months.  

What You’ll Do:

  • Leading on content creation on assigned topic areas, including developing market-making and thought-leadership material
  • Creating compelling content by translating technical papers and business innovation research
  • Creating and managing content publishing plans
  • Proactively developing new technical content that encourages key audiences to engage with projects and write with a high degree of accuracy
  • Aligning with key internal and external stakeholders for input into content, which may include publications, interviews, blogs, reports, and infographics
  • Assist with the build out and management of the content portal
  • Proofreading copy and artwork before publication
  • Inputting and insisting in promotional campaigns

What We’re Looking For:

  • Ability to translate complex technical and business concepts and research into understandable and compelling content
  • Understanding of advanced digital technologies, and able to clearly articulate the benefits and challenges of technology and business innovation
  • Ability to write technical material demonstrating knowledge and understanding of Cybersecurity and Platform Development
  • Excellent writing, editing and production skills for different channels and great attention to detail
  • Excellent planning, project management and organisational skills
  • Relevant past experience in marketing preferably from a technology business, start-up or agency
  • Experience of the technology sector ideally B2B
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, the developer ecosystem and cybersecurity
  • Ability to form successful working relationships with colleagues across the business
  • Able to deal with a fast pace and work within an exciting and dynamic environment
  • Self motivated and able to get stuck in, a quick learner who can hit the ground running, drives for performance
  • Passion for the technology sector
  • A business or marketing related qualification is beneficial or qualified by experience
