Data Science Physicist
This Data Science Physicist vacancy is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Physicist or those coming out of an experimental, theoretical or computational physics degree who have then turned their hand to data science; if you’re coming from a computer science background it likely won’t be suitable!
Our client is a global household name in the consumer product space and you will be joining their R&D team just south of Cambridge. This site has ~30 people total and you will be working directly with a multi-disciplinary team of ~7. So whilst they operate and deploy globally, you get the start-up feel on a day-to-day basis but with the big name behind you.
Primary responsibilities
- The work here is more akin to blue-sky research, as you’ll primarily be creating prototypes for new product development
- Utilizing your physics expertise to define the future consumer electronic devices
- Data capturing, extraction, analysis and reporting
- Integrating data from multiple sources
- Creating ML models in Python, Pandas, Numpy or similar
Required experience
- MSc or PhD in Physics, Experimental, Theoretical or Computational
- Data Science interest and understanding
- Machine Learning and associate libraries such as Pandas, Numpy, TensorFlow
- Predictive modelling
- Statistics
- Python
