Job Summary

They will be a senior engineer with significant experience leading technical projects, with a collaborative style, able to listen to, understand and respond to technical concerns from team members and partner organisations. This role gives the opportunity to explore new approaches for design verification alongside more traditional techniques.

The role will focus on test and verification of the range of high quality open source IP we are producing for our RISC-V SoC platform. lowRISC is an ambitious project with a small core team, so you will be heavily involved in the project's development direction. This role will involve frequent work with external contributors and collaborators, including design verification teams at partner companies. 

Practical experience of design verification using UVM and SystemVerilog is essential. Candidates should also have experience or demonstrated interest in some of

  • Python scripting
  • SoC design
  • large-scale open source development
  • formal verification techniques
  • technical documentation
  • EDA tools

Industrial experience and higher degree levels are valued, but we will also consider candidates without higher degrees but with a strong undergraduate academic record or equivalent experience. A high standard of written and spoken English is essential.


You must have the right to work in the UK. Starting salary is 55-65K GBP depending on experience. Benefits include a generous employer pension contribution (up to 12.5%) and holiday allowance (33 days including public holidays). You will join us at our offices in central Cambridge.
