Summary
The Economic Analyst will be responsible for managing the framework for monitoring the outputs and outcomes arising from Digital Catapult’s projects and interventions. The Economic Analyst will lead on identifying and curating micro and market data from internal and external sources, analysis and assessment of findings against the organisation’s strategic goals and writing and presenting key findings to internal senior management and external partners and collaborators. The Economic Analyst will work closely with the Lead Economist on promoting key developments in methodologies for evaluation and the Policy and Programme Lead in developing regional and local data and evidence of impacts.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the framework to monitor the outputs and outcomes of our interventions and projects
- Specify required system and process changes and oversee their delivery and acceptance into use
- Act as champion for the framework across the business, providing training, encouraging adoption and communicating impact and success stories
- Monitor and drive the collection of microeconomic data, actively surveying companies and gathering publicly available market data, as required
- Evaluate the data gathered, generating insightful management reports for managers and stakeholders and providing feedback to inform future priorities for projects and interventions and for design and application of the framework itself
- Support Lead Economist in promoting and thought leadership of new methodologies for evaluation
- Support Policy and Programme Lead in identifying and curating regional and national data and evidence of impacts
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in the operation of monitoring and evaluation systems, preferably in the public sector
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to enthuse and engage
- Someone that is highly analytical with strong numerical skills and the ability to generate insights from complex data
- Experience with data analytics platforms, Tableau preferred
- Excellent report writing skills, making sense of complex information and concepts, and identifying and supporting key recommendations
- Previous experience of working in economic, business and / or technology support would be an advantage.
