Summary
Electronics is a key constituent of the sensors and devices our team designs. You will work as part of multi-disciplinary teams across all stages of the development life cycle, from invention to volume manufacture. Our projects are in diverse areas, including diagnostic sensors for life sciences and analysis and detection for heavy industry. Each project will require a different subset of your skills, such as analogue amplifier design, digital logic, embedded software or signal processing and algorithm design.
You will rapidly develop electronic systems, and you’ll stay involved in the project from beginning to end. You’ll be expected to contribute to the design, build and test of what you design, from initial specification to final performance testing. You must have excellent communication and time management skills to manage the demands of working on several projects at the same time.
As part of this dynamic, creative, and inventive team you’ll be given the room to grow your technical skills and specialise in the areas where you excel while retaining the broad variety of day to day work. Requirements
Qualifications and Training
- 1st or Upper 2nd Class Masters degree in a relevant discipline from a top engineering university.
Skills and Experience
- You have a very strong understanding of the theory of electronic systems.
- You have practical experience of designing electronics and putting it to the test in real situations. You’ve used a package like Altium, OrCAD or EAGLE to draw schematics.
- You know how to efficiently use a programming language to achieve your goals – either embedded into your systems or on a PC to model and analyse results.
- Presenting your work will not phase you. You enjoy sharing the results of your work and explaining to a client why it matters to them.
- Your insatiable curiosity for new ideas – whether it’s a new technology, or how a multinational really makes money – means you dig deeper to generate valuable insight.
- Change is not scary. You jump at the chance to develop new skills, work on a problem you’ve never heard of before and take on new responsibilities.
