Field Applications Engineer

Summary

We are seeking an experienced customer-facing engineer with a strong understanding and knowledge of RF systems and a track record of pre-sales customer engagement and post-sales project delivery Your job will be to provide technical support to the Sales team for customer calls/visits, product demos and on-site trials, tender document evaluation and requirements compliance. In addition, post-sales, you will be asked to project manage the successful delivery of some of the more complex customers solutions. In this role you will report to our VP Sales, International.

You will need to be technically strong, versatile, quick to learn and enjoy helping customers solve challenging problems. You will be a highly motivated self-starter and able to work independently as well as part of a team.  You will need to be credible and confident in front of customers, be able to think on your feet and solve problems under pressure. You will also need to have excellent attention to detail and concern for quality and the ability to steer and coordinate your colleagues for project delivery. The position is based out of our office in Cambridge, UK.  It will involve fairly extensive both in the UK, Europe, Middle East and occasionally further afield.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to pre-sales activity including prep of simulations, running high quality sales demos, advice on bids and tender responses
  • Prepare demo equipment and run accompanied field trials
  • Project manage post-sales delivery of complex customer solutions
  • Provide high quality orientation and training to sales partners in line with our sale enablement program
  • Build meaningful relationships with operations to bridge gap into order fulfilment
  • Provide a strong Voice of Customer back into Product Management/User Interface
  • Provide occasional customer training

The Person

  • Passionate determination to help our Sales team win business and to support our partners and customers
  • Ability to conduct technical demonstrations of CRFS hardware and software to large and small groups
  • Experience of project managing delivery of customer solutions from project scoping through to customer acceptance tests
  • Ability to provide technical training to customers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • BS in Engineering or equivalent professional experience ideally involving RF systems with a solid understanding of RF concepts, components, systems and spectrum management
  • Computer hardware and software knowledge, including networking, ISPs, routers, switches and firewalls
  • Mechanical and electrical integration experience and skills would be an advantage
