The Digital Catapult Finance Team has an opening for a Grants Officer to join our team based in London near King’s Cross/St Pancras. The Grants Officer will play a key role in the grants administration, specifically supporting a new UK Research and Innovation funded project called the Digital Supply Chain Innovation Hub (DSCIH). The role represents a fantastic opportunity to work in a leading edge, fast paced organisation in the digital technology sector. The ideal candidate will have grant administration experience, specifically in claims management and submission.

We are looking for a smart and creative individual, a self-starter with strong financial and analytical acumen, who is comfortable with ambiguity and who can partner well across all levels of the organisation. 

What You’ll Do

  • The Grants Officer is end-to-end responsible for the administrative and reporting side of research and development funding. This includes timely collating and filing of grant claims consisting of billable hours and invoices
  • You will also be tasked with fully managing the documentation surrounding administration of, and payments to, external research partners
  • Managing external grant audits is also a key part of the role
  • The role requires frequent interaction with internal and external partners (Project Managers, Technologists, Finance, External partners, External audit, External Grant Monitoring Officers)

What We’re Looking For

  • Educated to degree level or qualified by experience
  • Experience with R&D grants administration and claims would be an advantage
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical skills and superior attention to detail
  • Ability to deliver to deadlines within a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in standard business software including Excel, Powerpoint and Word
  • Able to engage constructively with internal and external colleagues at all levels and across different departments
  • A self-starter that enjoys taking initiative and has a desire to exceed expectations
