About the Team

The IT Business Engagement Team is a newly formed team integral to the success of GSMA’s IT capability. We are the glue between IT and wider GSMA organisation, managing demand, developing the IT roadmap for the business, and managing and delivering innovative IT solutions at our world class MWC and M360 Series of events.

This is a great opportunity for an IT Business Partner to have true impact in IT strategy and delivery across the GSMA. Along with the usual project management skills.  You must have fastidious attention to detail, be an excellent communicator, and a collaborative and inquisitive nature.  As this is a new role, in a newly formed team, there is plenty of scope help form the structure and processes of the team, as such I’m looking for someone with a flair for innovation.

About the Role

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to liaising with internal departments to identify, define and manage project IT requirements, scope and objectives.

Liaising with the wider IT Application team to drive the application requirements to delivery and support the business in navigating the IT landscape. 

You will also

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, schedules, plans and reports
  • Vet and process business cases to define IT requirements
  • Plan, organise and prioritise workloads, work on own initiative and to tight deadlines
  • Set and work to timelines and milestones
  • Track costs and assist with managing and maintenance of budgets to deliver projects
  • Manage and coordinate between local and overseas vendors and other technical contractors
  • Report and escalate to stakeholders as needed
  • Work with both local and virtual teams that are geographically diverse
  • Network and gain industry knowledge, including an ‘over the horizon’ view
  • Creatively solve problems a practical, solution focused approach
  • Be responsible for risk and issue mitigation.

About You

You will be a creative problem solver with a practical, solution focused approach.

You will have

  • Experience in setting and working to timelines and milestones
  • Experience in delivering highly technical IT solutions 
  • Strong knowledge of application landscape and how this can drive high performance teams
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Strong experience of Cloud applications such as salesforce.com , workday, office 365, asana and dropbox.
