Machine Learning

Summary

TTP is a leading technology consulting and contract product development business with expertise across a range of markets including areas such as Medical Devices, Sensors, Life Sciences and Communications. We are now recruiting to strengthen our software, user interface and data analysis capabilities to build 21st century healthcare systems. You’ll be joining our diverse community of biologists, engineers, physicists and human factors designers to create user centred products that improve healthcare.

Our customers range from innovative start-ups through to mature multinational pharmaceutical manufacturers and healthcare providers.

They keep coming back for our long track record of delivering high volume devices and open-handed business approach. As with all our consultants, you’ll be encouraged to contribute to all stages of development, from project proposal through production release with opportunities to blend leadership and practice, developing your technical and business skills. Likely projects include distributed healthcare systems, multi biomarker monitoring, user (as opposed to patient) empowerment and next generation drug delivery devices.

TTP is an employee-owned business operating from pleasant surroundings on our own science park in Melbourn, South Cambridgeshire. Our working culture encourages entrepreneurship with a track record of spinning out successful businesses. We share ideas and collaborate to provide you the freedom to do your best work.

A mass of medical and health data is becoming available through a new generation of connected devices. The challenge is to make meaning from that data and create actionable insights for patients, physicians and researchers. Your role will be to apply the exploding range of machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques to make practical solutions. Example, projects are likely to include intelligent alarms, diagnostic assistance, treatment recommendation and condition forecasting.

Working as part of TTP’s multi-disciplinary medical devices team, you’ll be collaborating with the physicists, biologists and engineers that create our sensors. As well as coding algorithms, you’ll influence the way data is gathered and define how it is stored to enable future interpretation.

As with all our consultants you’ll be contributing at every stage of the development cycle, from concept proposal through to production deployment. This is likely to include rapid production of concept demonstrators.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience of designing and deploying systems using deep neural networks, but it may be that you have recently come to the field from a background in statistical signal processing in communications or video. Either way you’ll take a practical approach, pulling together third party components as well as designing critical elements yourself. As such, you’ll have a working knowledge of current AI & ML frameworks and development methods from prototyping demonstrable systems.

Your strong problem solving skills will rest on a basis of curiosity, imagination, and creativity. You’ll have a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and physical principles with the communication skills to put them into practice. You won’t be afraid to take the initiative.

You will have a 1st or upper 2nd class degree from a leading university in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a related subject.
