Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. The key services that we are responsible for are delivered by our in-house, highly-skilled workforce. We collect and treat the water that customers have used, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers which feed over 1,000 water recycling centres. What will you be doing?
As a Water Recycling Services Mechanical Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for the day-to-day reactive maintenance, general repairs and the rectification of faults on sewage and vacuum pumping stations and water recycling assets.
You’ll keep all kinds of equipment at our Water Recycling plants, sewage and vacuum pumping stations working properly. Out and about in all weathers, we’ll expect you to carry out quality reactive maintenance, investigate and diagnose complex faults, report on failing assets and to carry out repairs.
You’ll make sure health and safety procedures are at the heart of everything that’s done, procuring whatever goods and services are needed to keep things flowing at the best possible value for our customers and us.
What do you need?
You will have proven maintenance experience in an industrial environment including mechanical repairs of pumps and gearboxes, fabrication, and machining. It is essential you have served a mechanical or electrical apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ, complemented by ONC/BTEC or City and Guilds parts 1 and 2. Although this role includes an element of workshop work, please be aware that its very much a field based position.
You’ll be an organised, customer service focused, flexible team player, with good communication skills and used to working on your own initiative efficiently planning your own work. And, of course, you will be keen to develop a rewarding career and be the best you can be.
