THE ROLE
We are looking for a manufacturing specialist responsible for delivering hardware designed by our electronic, mechanical and PCB designers. You will select suppliers, obtain quotations, place orders and resolve any issues manufacturing issues, ensuring successful project completion. You will be the focus for this activity at Plextek, particularly for PCBA and product assembly.
When appropriate you will use your knowledge of design for manufacturing supply chain principles to advise team members on a day to day basis or at formal design reviews.
A key role will be to provide estimates for the hardware and assembly required to complete client proposals, often based on novel hardware solutions. You will be expected to develop your own approach to this activity along with business leads and project managers.
The opportunity is likely to be of interest to someone in a more traditional Manufacturing Engineering role looking to widen their experience and thrive on more direct involvement with clients.
