Presales Solution Architect


We are seeking an ambitious and dynamic Presales Solution Architect looking to progress their career in the tech industry. The Market Propositions Development function is a high impact team enabling our industrial market team to develop and secure new business more effectively. You will be leading the creation of technical value propositions that bring impact to our Industrial sectors. You will have exposure to many areas of the organisation, from Sales to Customer Success, Product, Research & Development and Quality Assurance. As such you will be a trusted advisor both internally within the wider team, and externally to prospective customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and retain an intimate knowledge of Digital Catapult technical capabilities (products, assets, people), the services they can deliver and the impact that creates for industry
  • Deliver technical propositions to our industrial sectors that drive pipeline growth and new revenue streams for Digital Catapult
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise to prospective customers on the technologies and solutions that Digital Catapult specialises
  • Interface with our market sector and technology teams by gathering and sharing customer insights and feedback
  • Work with customers to co-create use cases, which are then fed back into the central team for further development and deployment

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working in a Technical Presales/ Solutions Consulting / Sales Engineer role selling technology consultancy and / or SaaS solutions to industrial clients
  • A good understanding / expertise of at least two key frontier technologies (AI, IoT, 5G, Blockchain, Immersive)
  • A proven record of technology sales, with deal sizes over £500k
  • Ambition to develop alongside an organisation during a period of aggressive growth
  • Experience of bringing technologies from mid TRLs to production and scaling
  • Knowledge of system integration patterns, API Gateways, Data federation and virtualisation
  • Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills
  • Strong strategy, programme management and business development skills along with sales experience
  • Highly collaborative and committed to working in a matrix/ collaborative environment managing multiple stakeholders
