The four focus areas of the candidate would be to undertake quality assurance of releases, formally document software support, product configuration and support the product lead in release planning and execution.
The role requires a self-starter with background in delivering clear and concise instructions as well as having a high level of attention to detail.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide feedback
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
• Obtain customer / user requirements for the software user manuals.
• Understand the product in enough details to be able to capture the relevant information for user manuals and undertake quality assurance for each release.
• Monitor debugging process results
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
• Produce high-quality documentation in multiple formats
• Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
• Create training tutorials to help end-users and support the “user accreditation” program
• Analyze existing and new content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
• Create and maintain the application information architecture for end users.
• Involvement in weekly and monthly release planning and execution
Job Qualifications / Experience Required
• Proven work experience in software quality assurance
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
• Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
• Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation and software quality assurance
• Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
• Excellent written skills in English
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Markdown
• Strong familiarity with Agile software development process
Desirable skills:
• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
• Written skills in Spanish or Russian
