This is the Invention Age and this is where you come in. Talented and enthusiastic Systems Engineer for challenging role working with envelope tracking for 5G handsets. The right candidate will have the follow:

  • Good coding skills including object oriented programming and change control tools. Able to work on a shared code base with deliverables to customers both internally and externally.
  • A Good foundational knowledge of analogue electronics, RF electronics and digital signal processing concepts.
  • Analytical skills for debugging of complex hardware issues, analysing front end architectures, and creating new methods and solutions.
  • The ability to make accurate and well documented lab measurements with basic RF instruments outside of standard setups (Network analyser, Spectrum Analyser, Signal sources, power meters, oscilloscopes etc.) Responsibilities:
  • You will be part of a team that is the RF Systems authority for Envelope Tracking in 4G and 5G Handsets.
  • You will support the derivation of specifications for Power Aamplifier and Envelope Tracker parameters related to ET.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining parts of the code base of ET tools within Qualcomm pertaining to signal analysis and generation.
  • You may contribute to the analysis of system simulations of the mobile transmitter to predict performance and analyse the effectiveness of front end algorithms.
  • You may engage will many departments in Qualcomm to understand the issues and challenges in the modem, transceiver and RF front end.
  • You will work as part of a team of highly experienced engineers on all aspects of Envelope tracking within 4G & 5G handsets
  • You will setup and measure the performance of prototype PAs, Transceivers and Platform boards to verify performance metrics and to analyse and debug transmitter issues.
  • You may analyse and construct simulations of ET modulator architectures to improve performance and to provide requirements specifications.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Prefered Qualifications

  • Familiarity with mobile handset transmitters
  • Knowledge of Matlab, RF and analogue circuit simulators
  • Experience with the 4G & 5G 3gpp standards
  • Familiarity with Tx algorithms and digital pre-distortion

Education requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
