The Learning Technology Research Centre (LTRC) focuses on the development of virtual, augmented and mixed reality tools and outcomes for learning environments and industrial applications. It is a partner on several EU projects relating to teaching AR/MR/XR and is also delivering an industrial learning course with our partners Hobs 3D.
Ravensbourne is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow in VR/AR/MR/XR with expertise in at least two of the following areas: Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed/Extended Reality, 3D printing and digital fabrication. The post holder will be expected to have an interest in immersive technologies including games engines and 3D printing, including some industry experience. Experience and knowledge of AI and Machine Learning is desirable. Some experience of engaging with stakeholders or contributing to outreach activities would also be valuable.
The post holder will work as a member of the Learning Technology Research Centre team responsible for the delivery of (i) specific undergraduate units in 3D prototyping, Modelling, Animation and VR Technology and (ii) funded research projects that are based within the Learning Technology Research Centre and the Institute for Technology and Creativity. Experience of lecturing at FE or HE level and bid writing is desirable.
