RF System Engineer

Summary

We’re looking for highly motivated RF engineer to help us develop state of the art telecommunication terminals for fixed and mobile solutions. The right candidate should have electronics engineering degree (or similar) and demonstrable relevant industry experience in RF systems design.

Your knowledge will specifically include work on Satellite terminals operating in L, S ,Ku, Ka band and RF switching, multiplexing would be advantageous.

You’ll be involved throughout the development cycle which will include the evaluation of new technologies, development of new products and ground-breaking novel concepts.
We’re looking for someone who can apply a thorough engineering approach, is logical, proactive and with a real desire to innovate. The role will require design, test, review skills. It’ll be important to integrate effectively with the other team members, be able to break projects down into stages with clear deliverables/dependencies and deliver project work to committed timescales.

Quick facts: This is a permanent role directly with Satellite Applications Catapult. We are based in Harwell with great public transport connections from all of Oxfordshire as well as London. More about the role:Tasks
COTS RF MMIC components integration and external control (ie. HPA, Phase Shifter, RF switches, multiplexer/diplexer etc).Define Test Harness for RF system or subsystem and relevant passive or active Electronic components.Characterization and Analysis of performance at system or subsystem, qualify and quantify component selection & design based on performance, cost and quality.Input into product or project definition phases.Technical lead develop/fabricate porotype embedded PCB boards with BRM, Electronics, RF components.Supplier engagement as technical lead, supplier or subcontractor selection.Support documentation (HLD, LLD, Function spec’s or test plans).

About you
Expertise in Electronics / RF / PCB / Chipset system Integration (400Mhz to 30Ghz).Experience with Transmission Lines / Microwave /RF passive or active components integration.Design build of breadboard systems and components (RF subsystem and RF system level).Functional Testing, performance Analysis at both system or subsystem level.System and Circuit Design and Implementation.
