Senior Product Manager (Services)


This position is responsible for identifying and defining new market leading Services that maximize the value and profitability of u-blox chipsets and modules.

As Senior Product Manager you will ensure that the Services offer matches the market need with responsibility for conducting market research, generating product requirements, guiding specifications, production timetables, pricing, and integrated plan for market introduction and marketing strategies.  You will liaise with stakeholders in Cellular, Positioning and Short Range Product teams.

You will be responsible for product implementation throughout the lifecycle for Services that are deeply integrated with u-blox Wireless Modules or Wireless Chipsets.  The initial area of focus is IoT security and connectivity activiation within the industrial IoT/LPWA markets of asset tracking, smart cities, utilities, telematics, and healthcare.  The tasks include:

  • having an in-depth understanding of IoT web services, security and connectivity and related technologies
  • gathering and prioritizing service and customer requirements to best serve the assigned markets
  • working with the Head of Services to launch differentiated u-blox Services tied to u-blox Wireless Modules and Chipsets
  • interacting with clients, product managers and developers to drive requirements, design and implementation
  • defining and communicating the product USP (unique selling position) and driving the go-to-market strategy and plan
  • working closely with sales and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction
  • defining the Service(s) vision that creates inherent value for the market


  • In compliance with the overall company strategy for Services, define, drive and track:-
    • services strategy and business plan to meet market goals
    • services roadmap and specifications (Services Requirements Document)
    • industry partnerships and make-buy decisions necessary for a commercioal grade offering
  • Work with IoT Architect and Engineering to develop technology and implementation plans for new services and releases
  • Manage Services offering and ensure profitability
  • Maintain expert-level market intelligence for customers within the market segment (how they buy, their criteria) as well as u-blox's competition
  • Develop business and go-to-market launch plans and strategy for new services and releases
  • Maintain direct contact with key/lead customers and seek feedback on existing products and future customer requirements
  • Have in-depth knowledge of network and cloud management systems, service delivery, fulfillment, assurance and customer care
  • Strategically guide the sales force to improve market penetration

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Support creation and maintenance of market documentation
  • Support competition analysis within the market segements
  • Support Sales Tools (Services section)
  • Support and train u-blox sales channel and marketing communication
  • Quarterly performance review for all offerings


  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering discipline (or equivalent technical experience)
  • Significant experience in leading Web Services (specifically in the IoT domain highly preferred)

  • Professional communciation skills with proven ability to interface with customers (experience in a sales and/or support role)
  • Willingness to travel worldwide
  • Fluent in English, skills in other languages is an advantage.
