We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Solution Architect to join our headquarters in Cambridge.
As you will ensure that common architecture decisions support both business and IS strategy, and that architectures delivered, both logical and physical, are aligned with meaningful AZ architecture standards, blueprints and roadmaps. You will also assess and review the work of Solution architecture roles and build a balance between the immediate and the strategic. You will also be instrumental in understanding implications of architecture requirements to ‘As-Is’ architectures and define/update ‘To-Be’ architectures applying AZ architecture guiding principles. You will be responsible for Project Portfolios typically over the 0-18-month horizon. You will be accountable for direction, performance and ongoing health of the current solution architectures within one or more given portfolios. You will also define and own the Solution Architecture Principles for the assigned portfolio(s). The role will guide and support other architects (including third party suppliers) in the development and documentation of IS/IT architectures for complex and business critical projects.

As the successful candidate you will own the effort to ensure that common architecture decisions support the business and IS strategy, and that the architectures delivered are aligned with meaningful AZ architecture standards, blueprints and roadmaps.
You will be accountable for driving solution evaluation and selection decisions, buy vs. build decisions, early-phase project estimates, and proof of concepts which give to the business case. Also craft estimates for solution delivery including expertise to validate third party estimates and hence ensure value for money.
You will be responsible for delivering feedback to the Enterprise Architect team on how to improve Architecture Standards as well as documenting standard methodologies, drive reuse of existing solutions and in partnership with other Architects promote new solutions for reuse.
What we are looking for?
You will have valuable experience implementing and maintaining business solution architectures under any formal framework for their domain of architecture. As well as demonstrable experience of technical knowledge and experience of crafting and deploying solutions with large data sets on one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google).
You will also have key experience implementing and maintaining business solution architectures under any formal framework for their domain of architecture.
Experience & knowledge of a broad base of Enabling Functions and BI tools, for example: ERP solutions, Human Resource Management Systems, Financial transactional systems, Financial consolidation and modelling solutions, Content Management Systems, Management and Statutory reporting processes, Learning Content Management Systems, Financial compliance, Software-as-a-Service solutions, Master data management (processes and tools), service-oriented architecture. Oracle Hyperion Suite, SAP.
You will also have validated experience of leading change and significant approaches/ideas. Also a demonstrable ability to influence across business and IT.
Finally, key experience in at least two of the below areas is deeply beneficial to this role.
