Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. The key services that we are responsible for are delivered by our in-house, highly-skilled workforce. We collect and treat the water that customers have used, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers which feed over 1,000 water recycling centres. Would you like to be part of a team who responsible for the safe and sustainable operation and maintenance of our water recycling assets?

What will you be doing?

You will be one of our Water Recycling Services Works Technicians in the Huntingdon area, you’ll visit our Water Recycling Works to carry out routine maintenance and ensure the sites operate correctly. This is a "hands on job", working outside in all weathers, cleaning sites and monitoring processes. The work is varied, at times challenging, and it is unlikely that any two days will be the same.

Duties will include:

  • Ensuring used water & sewage treatment processes and systems are serviced and maintained
  • Prompt action in response to reactive work both during and outside the normal working day
  • Carry out scheduled activities as instructed through the tough-book or direct from the OMC (Operational Management Centre)
  • Provide on-site support to engineers and contractors as required
  • Maintain sites at lowest possible levels of Health & Safety risk

What do you need?

Your ability to learn quickly, use your own initiative and to solve problems is far more important to us than previous experience. You will train alongside an experienced Works Technician initially to ensure you gain the skills and knowledge required. The role will involve a large amount of lone working.

As the sites operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, you will need a flexible approach to working hours. You will be on a roster with the other Works Technicians, and you will work 37 hours per week over 6 days. There will be some weekend, evening work and Standby incorporated into the roster.
