Following the success of the CW International Conference earlier this year, the organising committee are pleased to launch the themes for next year along with a call for papers and speakers.
As with any large conference, the planning always begins early with a mountain of ideas from an energised organising committee!
We are in the process of building out the webpages for the conference, but we can confirm the following title and summary of the 2018 Conference is as follows...
CWIC 2018: Thinking beyond the hype
CWIC 2018 will challenge, inform and inspire delegates to think beyond the hype, focussing on six of the most relevant technology areas:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Industrial IoT and the Connected Enterprise
- 5G and Network Innovation
- Mixed Reality
Where do the genuine opportunities for business growth lie, now and in the future?
Call for speakers: We welcome introductions to speakers who can talk confidently on the above subject areas. We are looking for alternative opinions, as well as industry applications of technology so if you think this could be you please let us know which topic, a title and brief synopsis. Nominate a speaker here.
Call for papers: If you are conducting research in any of the above areas, please let us know so we can distribute among the CW community through our blog and social media.
Who inspires you: We are reviewing a list of headline speakers and are interested to know if you’ve heard any stand out talks recently. They don’t necessarily have to fit in one of the above technology areas and we’d love to get a greater insight from our CW community.
If you can support on either of the above call to actions, please get in touch with the CWIC organising committee via email.
Introducing the committee:
Bob Driver - CEO, CW
Nick Hunn - CTO, WiFore
Simon Fletcher - CTO, Real Wireless

Faye Holland - Founder, Cofinitive (Committee Chair)
Geoff Varrall - Director, RTT Online

Faye recently joined the CW board in May 2017 and then the CWIC committee shortly thereafter. She says "as more and more technologies continue to converge, this conference is a great opportunity to provide real opinions and connect the movers and shakers in the above industries. I encourage everyone to get in touch with CW with their papers and speaker suggestions - it's important that we seek expert speakers through collaboration and our established partnerships."
