Best-kept secret Kynesim has a top 2018

Member News published by Kynesim, under Business Development, Internet of Things (IoT), Product Design, Technical Consultancy

What a year 2018 has been! After a decade of working ‘under the radar’ on ground-breaking projects, this year Kynesim have certainly elevated their position in the field of technology and product development.

To commemorate its 130th birthday, the Cambridge News chose to recognise 130 Cambridge businesses that have made a positive contribution to the local economy and provide excellent customer service.

Ten years ago, Cambridge News listed Kynesim as ‘One to Watch’ and we have been quietly living up to that claim

says CEO Neil Spence-Jones.

One of our biggest accolades in 2018, was that a decade after this first listing, we were then recognised as one of the Cambridge130

The Kynesim team collectively have over 100 years’ experience in technology design, as well as over a million units in the field - including many ‘firsts’ such as the BBC Micro, the codex stack for the world’s first set top box, Wi-Fi integration for a major mobile phone company, and the first home alert integration.

2018 culminated with Neil attending the CW Founders Dinner on Thursday 13th December, where having become a founder member, he was able to address the audience and enthused

Having been a best-kept secret, we’re excited to be a new CW member and look forward to engaging with the businesses that are pioneering technology development - here in Cambridge, in the UK and across the globe.

But it’s not easy being a business under the radar. Neil explains

Much of the work we undertake is recognised as our clients’ work which means Kynesim are just not able to showcase it publicly. Fortunately our reputation and connections mean that we still deliver the right type of referrals and customer enquiries, as well as attracting and maintaining the best engineers to Kynesim. With the Cambridge130 accolade, and new membership with CW, we’ve topped off a tremendous 2018, and we are excited to see what 2019 has in store.
