Marks & Clerk bolsters UK offering by promoting Cambridge associate to partnership

Press Release published by Marks & Clerk, under Legal / IP

Marks & Clerk, one of the world’s leading intellectual property (IP) firms, has brought one of its Cambridge associates, Mash-Hud Iqbal, into partnership, in addition to promoting three further associates to partners across its UK network.

Mash-Hud Iqbal has been elected to the Partnership in Cambridge. After graduating from Cambridge University, Mash-Hud has already made waves in his IP career, having been named a ‘rising star’ by Managing IP. He brings extensive knowledge to the Partnership in domestic client growth in a wide range of fields including electronic devices and sensors, software and medtech.

Mash-Hud Iqbal, Partner in Marks & Clerk’s Cambridge office, commented:

I am very excited to join the Partnership at a time when Cambridge is witnessing remarkable growth due to its innovative economy. I am very proud that I have had opportunities to be involved with many Cambridge success stories and I look forward to working with the M&C team to support further innovations across the region.

Kirsteen Gordon, Managing Partner at Marks & Clerk’s Cambridge office, said

I am delighted for Mash-Hud and very much look forward to working with him for many years to come.  He is energetic and dynamic and I am confident that he will continue to be a major asset to our office and firm.

David Ward, UK Managing Partner at Marks & Clerk said:

I am pleased to be able to welcome four new Partners into the UK business. London, Oxford and Cambridge are three of the UK’s most innovative economies. The election of these four new Partners demonstrates our commitment to helping the businesses driving this success to capitalise on their innovation and build robust, commercially focused intellectual property strategies.

Each of our new Partners is an expert in his field, with a firm grasp on the technologies that will shape the economy of tomorrow. More than this however, they also bring enormous commercial acumen to the work they do.  This is essential to ensure that clients’ IP strategies are fully aligned with their broader business objectives.

Mash-Hud has been brought into partnership alongside three other Marks & Clerk associates: Matthijs Branderhorst, based in the Oxford office, and David Grant and Thomas Zvesper, both based in the London office.

Marks & Clerk’s Cambridge office has been established for over a decade. Its office of European and UK Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys has developed particular strength in chemicals, life sciences (pharmaceuticals and biotechnology), electronics, telecoms, software and clean technologies.

Marks & Clerk Cambridge are pleased to be hosting a 1-day IP Summit on Tuesday 16 October 2018. More information will be made available in the coming weeks.
