Antenova has branded this type of antenna REFLECTOR. The antenna design uses two layers, one electrically isolated from the other, to provide RF shielding to the second layer.

Commenting, Antenova’s CEO, Colin Newman, says:

This antenna is exceptional for several reasons: it is very low profile, just 1.7mm high, which makes it attractive to designers making small devices; it has a capability to operate on metal surfaces which is very rare; and its potential for smart cities is huge. We are very proud of our design team for creating this exciting antenna.

Embedded World, which takes place each year in Nuremberg, is Europe’s largest trade show for the embedded electronics sector. Only three awards are given at the show, they are for Hardware, Software and Tools.

Antenova was founded in Cambridge and is well known in the Cambridge technology and engineering communities. Today the company has locations across the globe, in Hertfordshire, Santa Rosa, Taipei and Shanghai. For more information about Antenova Ltd and the Robusta antenna, please see www.antenova-m2m.com.
