CW Board Elections

Spring time means elections for CW. As you are probably aware Cambridge Wireless Ltd is effectively owned by its Members who elect the governing Board responsible for the organisations' strategic direction. Each spring we carry out an election process for any board positions that are expiring.

This time around there are three board members up for renewal. This includes 2 x Founder Member Directors (Stephen Unger & Peter Whale) and 1 x Associate Member Director (Graham Pink). Incumbents can be re-elected if (a) they are willing to stand, (b) are nominated, and (c) receive sufficient votes. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Stephen, Peter and Graham for their exemplary service to the CW community.

We will be writing out to all Founder and Associate key contacts to seek nominations for these three positions. The period for nominations is 3-13 April. The elections will then be open between 16-30 April.

Reminder: it has been agreed by all concerned that there is a definite need to enhance the diversity of the board. We want the board to better represent our membership and that means recruiting board members from different backgrounds, different disciplines as well as improving gender diversity. To this end members agreed to change the Articles of Association for the organisation back in December 2016, increasing the number of co-opted Directors (appointed by the elected Board Members) from 2 to 5. This took place last year and the newly co-opted Directors are in position until 2020. We do, however, have 2 co-opted Directorship positions opening this year. These will be appointed in May.
