Winter is now all year round – just how do we cope?

Across England ‘winter pressure’ on acute hospitals has showed no signs of diminishing over summer months. Increasing numbers of paediatric and over 85 year olds are presenting at our ED & requiring admission - the hospital running ‘hot’ with bed occupancy at >98 % most days. Evelyn will outline the challenges of predicting capacity requirements for elective & non-elective admissions.
