Phil will address the entrepreneur’s challenge of finding the right opportunity, building the founding team and inspiring people with their vision. Achieving this, whilst becoming a global segment-leading company, will then provide exit opportunities for those that need or want them.
Phil O’Donovan, is an Engineer who has worked for large and small Technology, Media, and Telecom organisations. As co-founding Managing Director, he helped grow Cambridge-based CSR plc from a startup of nine in 1999 into a successful fabless semiconductor company. CSR listed on the LSE in April 2004 and became a FTSE 250 company three months later.
CSR launched its single-chip BlueCore01™ in 2000 and, within four years, became the largest global market supplier of Bluetooth chips with 2012 annual revenue of $1Billion. By 2015, CSR had shipped 4Billion chips and employed 2,000 people in 27 offices in 13 countries. CSR was acquired by Qualcomm in September 2015 for $2.5Billion.
Phil is a Cambridge-based mentor, director, angel investor, speaker on entrepreneurial topics and an advisor to organisations planning to commercialise their IP.
