Ian Goetz, CTO, Parallel Wireless
This talk will cover how the traffic profile has changed, the lack of street level coverage and capacity, the needs of the new use cases, e.g. CAV etc and how a carefully designed RAN can meet these needs, including sharing of existing city infrastructure in an aesthetically pleasing way that is easy to deploy.
Ian Goetz is the regional CTO for EMEA at Parallel Wireless, looking at new solutions for small cells and NTN. Previously , he held the role of Acting head of NTN Technology for a satellite manufacturer, and before that was the Director – Global RAN Systems Architecture in the Dell Technologies, Telecom Systems Business.
He has 35 years’ experience in the mobile communications industry across operator, vendor, consulting and research roles starting in BT Research Laboratories and followed by BT Cellnet, Tellabs, IBM, Motorola, Aircom International, Juniper Networks, Dell Technologies and now Parallel Wireless.
His experience includes 3GPP, GSMA and ETSI standards work, solution creation across Core, Edge and RAN as well as patents in these fields. He is currently working with the Parallel Wireless Dell PdM and Engineering teams as well as customers, on new small cell and NTN 4G & 5G solutions where they intersect with Private & Shared networks and O-RAN.
