CAMBRIDGE, UK, 15 SEPTEMBER 2014 Cambridge Investment Research (CIR) has run conferences of great value since 2002. Since 2007 CIR introduced the cleantech and smarttech series, and there have been 20 such events since then, mainly conferences of over 100 leaders at top university venues.

This summit, sponsored by AlertMe and Hitachi Europe (Gold) and Sentec (Silver) has 5 full 90-minute sessions, each with 4 speakers and an expert moderator. There is an overall chairman (Alan South of Solar Century plc). The venue is one of the country's most renowned.

Cambridge is represented by a number of speakers: Pilgrim Beart, Founder Director of AlertMe and 1248.io, Stan Boland CEO of Neul, Steve Dawson of Sentec. Dr Caroline Hargrove, Technical Director of Mclaren was a Fellow at Sidney Sussex College and Engineering there.

On the evening of the 1st of October, before a private dinner roundtable, there are 4 excellent keynote speakers: these are David Cairns of Finavon, MD of Prismtech, Rasmus Blom Director of Danish company Grundfos Connect, Usman Haque, an inspirational serial entrepreneur with Umbrellium, who sold Pachube to Xively, and Pigrim Beart, Founder of AlertMe.

This is followed by a panel, moderated by Peter Drake, an experienced internet and comms guru who led the IT systems for Lloyds of London and the House of Commons, and is now working on standards. The session will look at market advantage, interoperability and wider benefits of the industrial internet smart systems.

On Day 2, 2nd October, there are focus sessions on (1) Smart Homes & Buildings (eHealth, Security and Energy Management), (2) Sensor Networks & Devices (with Libelium, Placeholder Labs, Thingful and Sentec taking the lead), (3) Automotive and Transport Systems (with Riversimple's eponymously leader of lifeCAR, Hugo Spowers, Dr Caroline Hargrove of Mclaren, BT's Dr Alistair Duke and Stan Boland CEO of Neul); and a finale on (4) Smart Cities & Urban Infrastructure with Dan Byles MP, Infosys, AlertMe, Hitachi Europe & Sensor City, Liverpool.

Those attending both days as delegates can upgrade free of charge to take a small exhibition presence and sponsors are still welcome to take up marketing opportunities via the digital coverage before and after the event on the legacy and SlideShare pages.

The event is subsidised by sponsors and is as such excellent value; a further 15% discount is available to specified concessions on the site. "This is a fabulous conference, made possible by our sponsors and years of networking and experience event development, and I commend it to anyone interested in the connected, communicating world," said Dr Justin Hayward, Founder of CIR, "The dinner is sold out now, but all conference sessions of the summit on 1-2 October are still available."
