The Standard Environment for Next Generation Systems

As communications technologies evolve to provide new services and applications to Public Safety users, it is important that the standards environment keeps pace so that users can procure equipment that meets harmonised standards, so can be competitively procured and will be fully interoperable when in service. Harmonised spectrum is equally important. The presentation will give an update of the current standards and spectrum environment for Broadband services for Public Protection and Disaster Relief, and the expected timescales for standards to be complete to enable equipment providing new services to be available.
