The 9th CW International Conference (CWIC) is an established annual event within the tech thought leadership calendar, bringing together C-suite business leaders, entrepreneurs, start-ups and engineers. It is curated by CW members and industry peers, ensuring that relevant and emerging topics are always addressed.

The overall aim of the conference is to set new paths for the industry by debating controversial technology and business issues. This provides an opportunity for busy professionals to reflect upon and renew strategic horizons taking on board new ideas, new challenges, and making new connections.

The Theme – Connecting Generations
The theme of this years’ conference is ‘Connecting Generations’. Each generation, from post-millennials to baby boomers and beyond, is adopting and driving the development of wireless applications in their own way. Can new generations of technology that we foresee meet these dynamics or are different approaches needed now?

Connecting Generations is an overarching theme that integrates three components; CWIC Starters, Innovation showcase and the main conference on the 7th June.

Connecting Generations kicked-off in March with a series of ‘CWIC Starter’ events investigating Healthcare, Transport and Mobility, LPWAN & IoT and Immersive. These 4 x one day events offered attendees the opportunity to learn more about the specific subject, to hear from current innovators in the field, and to pose some of the questions that the main conference may tackle. Running alongside the CWIC Starter events, the Innovation Showcase will challenge teams of start-ups, SMEs, individuals and organisations to identify, collaborate and co-create solutions in response to real-life engineering and commercial challenges. Teams will have 12 weeks to create solutions to present at the conference.

The main conference itself on the 7th June will be held just outside Cambridge (at the world famous Genome Campus) – apart from the four challenge areas, there will also be plenary sessions on Smart Cities, Artificial Intelligence, and a debate on 5G, all alongside adjacent exhibition and networking areas. The conference will conclude with a splendid dinner at Hinxton Hall.

If you are passionate about emerging technologies, meeting other global professionals, and are keen to engage in the discussions that shape a vision of future connected generations, then please do join us.
